- All suppliers and third parties acting on behalf of MRL.
3. Objectives
MRL is committed to:
- Reducing energy consumption and improving efficiency across our offices and remote work setups.
- Minimising waste through reduction, reuse, and recycling.
- Reducing carbon emissions, particularly related to travel and procurement.
- Encouraging sustainable procurement, using suppliers and materials with strong environmental credentials.
- Raising awareness among staff and stakeholders on environmental responsibilities.
4. Key Areas of Focus
4.1 Energy and Resource Use
- Use energy-efficient equipment and appliances.
- Promote conscious energy usage (e.g. switching off devices when not in use).
- Monitor energy and water use to identify areas for improvement.
4.2 Travel and Transport
- Encourage virtual meetings where feasible to reduce travel.
- Promote use of public transport or low-emission vehicles.
- Minimise unnecessary business travel and offset carbon emissions where possible.
4.3 Waste Management
- Recycle paper, plastics, and electronic waste.
- Avoid single-use plastics and reduce paper use by promoting digital-first practices.
- Work with certified recycling providers.
4.4 Sustainable Procurement
- Source from environmentally responsible suppliers.
- Choose products and services that have minimal environmental impact.
- Include sustainability criteria in supplier evaluations.
4.5 Office and Remote Work Practices
- Maintain paperless or low-paper work environments.
- Use cloud-based and shared digital platforms to avoid duplication and reduce resource use.

5. Compliance and Legislation
MRL complies with all relevant environmental laws and regulations, including but not limited to:

6. Roles and Responsibilities
- Directors and Managers are responsible for ensuring this policy is implemented and regularly reviewed.
- Employees and Contractors must follow environmental best practices and report any concerns or suggestions for improvement.
- A designated Environmental Coordinator (if appointed) may oversee implementation and monitoring.
7. Communication and Training
MRL will:
- Provide relevant training to employees on sustainability and environmental practices.
- Promote environmental awareness across the organisation.
- Engage stakeholders in initiatives that support sustainability.
8. Monitoring and Continuous Improvement
MRL will:
- Review its environmental performance annually.

9. Policy Review
This policy will be reviewed annually or when significant changes occur in company operations or environmental regulations. Updates will be approved by the Board of Directors and communicated company-wide.
